From Nashua, New Hampshire -?
Republican Rick Santorum brought his campaign back to New Hampshire on Monday, beginning his day by speaking to a group on the football field of a small college in Nashua, as he looks to repeat his magic of one week ago in Iowa.
"We're in this race here," Santorum said, expressing some optimism about his chances in the Granite State.
"We're running a grass roots effort here and we expect to do very well here and surprise folks at the finish," Santorum added.
Santorum's stump speech was a bit different than what he usually offered in Iowa, as he focused on economic issues and didn't go into more socially conservative issues which caused him some heartburn in recent days.
"It's a message about making sure that this economy and this country grows and is available for everybody," said Santorum, who spent most of Sunday in South Carolina stumping for votes.
As of now, the polls don't indicate a similar surge for Santorum here in New Hampshire - but Santorum backers do hope for a boost over the single digit numbers that were typical for Santorum for the last six months.
"We have a strong message that I believe is a winning message," said the former U.S. Senator.
We'll see on Tuesday whether Santorum is able to run strongly in New Hampshire, or if better times might lie ahead in South Carolina.
